L-Tryptophan is an essential amino acid that must be obtained through food or supplementation. It is found naturally in animal and plant proteins. Tryptophan is used to treat and prevent health conditions including anxiety, sleep apnea, depression, ADHD, and may even improve athletic performance. The body converts tryptophan to 5 HTP then to serotonin. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter than relays signals within the brain. It has a huge impact on appetite, libido, mood, and sleep. Taking NOW L-Tryptophan is a great idea if you struggle with mood or sleep issues.
