Now Foods Calcium Citrate with Minerals contains a synergistic formula for bone metabolism which includes magnesium and vitamin D. The trace minerals and vitamin D are added because their role in bone metabolism is very essential. This is a vegetarian/vegan product that contains no sugar, salt, yeast, wheat, gluten, milk, egg, shellfish, or preservatives. Calcium citrate is a readily digested and absorbed form of calcium. Calcium is necessary for many normal functions of your body including normal functioning of nerves, cells, muscle, and bone. Without enough calcium in the blood, the body will take the calcium it can from bones which then weakens your bones.
